I'm playing catch-up with all the new signings we made last week. First up is Dejan Stefanovic who we signed from Portsmouth, where he was club captain, on a two year deal for £1m. Dejan is a hugely experienced defender who could well be that intelligent leader we've been looking for. He is 32, so has a few years good football left in him, and has only moved on from Pompey due to the influx of money to that club, and 'Arry Redknapp's style of buying and selling as many players as he can. Stefanovic made 123 appearances for Portsmouth scoring 4 goals. He has also played for Red Star Belgrade, Sheffield Wednesday and Vitesse Arnhem. He gained 19 caps for initially Yugoslavia and then Serbia & Montenegro before retiring from international football in 2004. Of all our "deadline" signings I think Dejan could make the greatest impact.
